A new report has revealed that Apple could make the iPhone 13 series wireless charging coil slightly larger than the previous generation. It is also possible that the adjustment may come with support for wireless charging as well.

According to a new rumor from Max Weinbach (Via MacRumors), the Cupertino giant plans to host a larger wireless physical charging coil on the back of the iPhone range this year. This, in turn, would mean increasing the area of wireless charging. Previously, Weinbach had also reported that the upcoming iPhone 13 would also have stronger MagSafe magnets. Now, he thinks this might be the reason for the larger coil size.

Moreover, Weinbach also added that this may also imply support for inverted wireless charging in next-generation iPhones. For the uninitiated, this technology allows users to charge devices that support wireless charging from their iPhones. For example, you could charge your AirPods via an iPhone 13 model, just by placing the earphones on the back of the smartphone.

At the moment, he is not sure if the company is really aiming to bring this feature to its products anytime soon. However, rumors have surfaced about the iPad Pro 2022 which features inverted wireless charging technology.

As this technology can cause smartphone use, it seems more practical on a larger device like the iPad. Unfortunately, this is still an unconfirmed report, so take it with a pinch of salt and stay tuned for more updates.
